BGSTR designed the graphics for AMC’s 2024 Upfront presentation, hosted by the network this April in New York. Continuing the Upfront partnership that began last year, we designed a graphics-forward presentation to share AMC’s exceptional suite of content and the value the network brings to advertisers and agencies as they make their buying decisions for the next year.
We began by exploring design options that would translate the network’s overall goals for the presentations. Our goal was to find a look and feel that would encompass the wide variety of programming AMC creates and in turn, appeal to the diverse audience consuming the content.
We leaned into a sleek 3D style to encapsulate the contemporary feel of the presentation and create a system that encourages viewers to stay engaged while receiving information on the AMC programming being featured.
The system we designed created a visual identity for the types of programming and distribution opportunities available for the advertisers in the audience. The presentation’s 3D foundation allowed the event producers to incorporate motion or allow the motion graphics to stand alone.
The Upfront Presentation event was a delightful, memorable one for all present. The sit-down dinner and presentation were held April 10 at Chelsea Factory on West 26th Street, with plenty of surprise guests to entertain the network’s guests.
An overarching theme of the presentation was the large, yet fragmented audience consuming AMC content, so one of our design goals was to confirm that the network’s programming makes for an ideal centerpiece for all types of innovative cross-platform campaigns.
Thanks to our time working on the 2023 Upfront presentation, we were aware of how dense the stack of deliverables would be ahead of time and were able to approach the project with a fresh mindset and some streamlining this.
We focused intently on organization throughout the process and ensuring the system of deliverables was easy to utilize and update as needed to achieve the seamless motion story told in the final presentation.
Our design also hosted video montages illustrating the range of AMC Network's original content. Two were accompanied by unexpected moments— an original song was performed live during a montage of scenes from Anne Rice's ‘Interview With The Vampire’ and ‘Witches of Mayfair’ series and later zombies moved through the audience to the classic Led Zeppelin song ‘Whole Lotta Love’ with a backdrop of scenes from various series in the Walking Dead Universe.
The event went beautifully and the presentation was the perfect backdrop for an action-packed evening that included execs and zombies alike. Congratulations to our partners on another Upfront success story.
